Verification Policy

What our checks mean, what they do not mean, and each party's continuing duties.

Version 1.1Effective 22 July 2026
Trust CentreOverviewPrivacyWebsite termsDriver termsBusiness termsAcceptable useCookiesData protectionVerificationRisk noticeRefundsComplaintsIP & copyright

1. Purpose

Verification is intended to improve trust and help users make informed decisions. It does not remove the need for each party to carry out its own appropriate checks.

2. Current launch position

Joining the launch list does not automatically mean that a driver or takeaway has been fully verified. Unless a profile expressly states the check completed and date, users must not assume verification has taken place.

3. Checks we may introduce

Depending on the service and role, checks may include identity, age, driving licence, vehicle details, MOT, motor and food-delivery insurance, right to work where applicable, business identity, address, references or other information relevant to safety and compliance.

4. Levels and evidence

We may use different verification levels. A status will relate only to the documents or information specified. We may use third-party verification providers and may ask for original or refreshed evidence.

5. Point-in-time limitation

A completed check shows only that selected information appeared satisfactory at the time checked. Documents can expire, be cancelled, altered or become inaccurate. Verification is not a guarantee of a person's identity, honesty, competence, behaviour, roadworthiness, insurance at the time of a job, or suitability for a particular engagement.

6. Continuing responsibilities

Drivers must maintain all legally required documents and insurance and must immediately tell us and affected takeaways about any material expiry, suspension, cancellation or restriction. Takeaways must decide what checks are necessary for their arrangement and should inspect evidence where appropriate.

7. Failed, incomplete or suspicious checks

We may refuse, pause or remove verification; request more evidence; restrict platform access; preserve relevant records; or report suspected fraud or unlawful conduct to an appropriate authority. We do not have to disclose security-sensitive checking methods.

8. Corrections and appeals

Contact admin@takeawaydriver.co.uk if you believe verification information is wrong. We will review reasonably available evidence but cannot alter records held by external issuing bodies.
